During his partner’s 13 hours of work, Carter shared videos of the delivery room, keeping his fans updated on the baby’s progress.

The happy news comes more than a year after the couple announced on a June 2020 YouTube livestream that Martin had suffered a miscarriage two months after sharing in April that they were expecting their first baby.

“She suffered a miscarriage due to stressful conditions,” Carter said on the live broadcast. “We’re going to give her a little time, let her heal, and then we’re going to try again. We both want that. I have to take care of her.”

Last April, Martin shared a photo from an ultrasound to her Instagram page, apparently announcing that she was pregnant.

Speaking to PEOPLE exclusively in April 2020, Carter expressed his excitement about becoming a father.

“This is what we both want,” the musician said of his future with Martin. “We were both trying. I’m just focused on the future and being a father. I want to be a good father. I’m focused, my music career has gone really well, and I’m on tour, taking my clothing line out, all those things that I have in my favor and that they are not necessarily just music. Family is the most important thing to me. “

Carter made the couple’s relationship official on Instagram in January 2020. At the time, he shared a photo of them together, which has since been deleted, with the caption: “She loves me, she doesn’t love me, she woke me up from the nap, but I’m not complaining 🦁 “.

In June of that year, the singer revealed on his Instagram that he and Martin were engaged, sharing a photo of an engagement ring on his left hand.

“Lövē wins ❤️😍💍,” he captioned the post, adding the hashtags # iloveyou3000 #engaged #fiance and #ourlovestory.
