Adele Cries At Concert Teacher Reunion

“She really made us care and we knew she cared about us.”

Twitter was freaking out. My mom was texting me saying she was crying. This could only mean one thing: yes, Adele’s live concert, An audience with Adele, was being televised.

Home Sweet Home. I’ve always dreamed of doing An Audience With… There was so much love in the room, it felt like a concert! Everyone was loud and ready! And my teacher Mrs. McDonald was there, it was just heaven ♥ ️

There is a part of the special that has captured the hearts of many, where Adele has a reunion with her English teacher from when she was a child …

We all have that teacher who changed our lives … What a beautiful reunion! ❤️ * PS I would totally buy Alan Carr’s version of ‘Make You Feel My Love * 🤣 @Adele #AnAudienceWithAdele https://t.co/2ZZI2RS0mI

… And, in my mother’s words:

Although I highly recommend that you watch the clip for yourself, it begins with Emma Thompson asking Adele, of course, if there was someone who inspired her when she was younger.

Adele responded without pause, naming her 12-year-old English teacher, Miss McDonald. “It was only a year, but she really got me into literature. I’ve always been obsessed with English, and obviously now I write lyrics. But she also danced in the street, I was too scared to join, but in the canteen they used to do these dances … She was so fucking cool. So attractive. She really made us care and we knew she cared about us. “

Cut to the beat of the “Make You Feel My Love” music playing – AND YES, MISS MCDONALD WAS THERE.

Driving Adele to break down in tears.

“I’m so proud of you,” her former teacher said, to which Adele replied, “I didn’t know you were coming!”

“You really changed my life,” Adele added, before yelling, “Mom! Mom, can you believe it?”

The two then share a quick meeting …

… Which also made me look like this:

Adele then goes to have her makeup done, and in the process asks her friend and comedian, Alan Carr, to stop for a few minutes and sing a little “Make You Feel My Love.”

Anyway, if you see me crying on the subway tonight, mind your own business.
