This week has been very kind to Future. In addition to celebrating his 38th birthday with a mobster-themed role and a private Dave & Buster party, Future achieved a huge milestone with his 2020 single.

Last night Future’s manager Dwight Elder posted an Instagram story of Future receiving his Diamond plaque for his January 2020 song “Life Is Good” with Drake.

The song peaked at # 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ended up getting the remix treatment with Lil Baby and DaBaby added.

“Life Is Good” was also featured on Future’s eighth studio album. High of life since last May. The album reached # 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The entire album was certified Platinum in July.

“Life Is Good” was produced by D. Hill, a frequent contributor to Future and Drake. D. Hill passed away in October, so it’s a shame he wasn’t able to see his most successful song achieve RIAA Diamond status.

In the video Elder posted, it appears that Future and a group of his close friends associated with Freebandz were having dinner and presented him with the plaque as part of a grand celebration.

This is now Future and Drake’s first collaboration to become a Diamond, despite many of their previous hits having achieved multiplatinum status. Songs like “Jumpman” from his 2015 collaborative album What a time to be alive is 5x platinum and DS2 hitting “Where Ya At” is 4x Platinum.

Future and Drake have established themselves as one of the most consistent and compatible duos in the last 10 years of rap.
