As if Adele fans need more feelings to deal with right now.
The British singer wept Lasted after she was surprised on stage by her childhood English teacher during her special concert “An Audience With Adele,” which was televised on ITV in the UK over the weekend.
Like his recent US special, the concert recorded to promote his new album, “30”, was performed for an audience of A-listers. Instead of being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey, this time, Adele was questioned by members of her celebrity guest list. This included British acting icon Emma Thompson, who asked the singer if she had someone to inspire and support her when she was younger.
“Yes, I had a teacher in Chestnut Grove [Academy] who taught me English. That was Miss McDonald, ”the London-born star said without hesitation.
She said they hadn’t kept in touch after the teacher left in eighth grade, but “she really got me into literature.”
“I’ve always been obsessed with English and obviously now I write lyrics,” she added.
“She was so fucking cool, so attractive, and she really made us care, and we knew that she cared about us and things like that. She used to have all these gold bangles and rings. She was incredibly cool and so relatable and personable, I was really looking forward to my English lessons. “
It was then that Thompson announced that Ms. McDonald was present and took the stage to see her former student. After a tearful hug, the two briefly caught up.
“Thanks for reminding me,” McDonald told Adele.
“No, really, you really did change my life. Mother! Mom, can you believe it? Adele told McDonald, whose two sons were also in the audience.
“I haven’t seen you since I was, like, 12,” he added. “I still have all my books, you know? I have all my books from when you were my teacher. “
