HBO Shares ‘Euphoria’ Season 2 Teaser, Announces Premiere Date

After a long wait, fans now have answers. Euphoria, which concluded its inaugural season in August 2019, will return to HBO for its second season in January.

HBO also shared a new teaser for the acclaimed series created by Sam Levinson, starring Zendaya. And while it’s actually been more than two years since the first season ended, fans were generously given a couple of “bridging episodes” in December 2020 and January this year, respectively. The first, titled “Trouble Don’t Last Forever,” focused on Zendaya’s character, Rue, while the second, co-written by Hunter Schafer, focused on Schafer’s character, Jules.

At the 2020 Primetime Emmys, Zendaya took home the award for Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Rue, becoming the youngest to receive the honor from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

In addition to Tuesday’s premiere date, HBO also shared a new teaser. Look at that above. Euphoria returns January 9.

Earlier this year, Zendaya and Levinson teamed up for the black and white drama. Malcolm and Marie, co-starring John David Washington. In the middle of the promotion of the film, now available on Netflix, Zendaya, which will be seen below on Spider-Man: No Way Home—She revealed that Levinson had initially cast her into a “meta-Disney” horror project.
