J.K. Simmons On J. Jonah Jameson’s Role In Spider-Man: No Way Home

JK Simmons’ iconic portrayal of the antagonist newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson remains a lasting legacy of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films. After appearing in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Simmons is set to reprise his role in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Speaking to the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Simmons lightly brushed back Jameson’s hairline as he talked about his appearance in the next film.

“You know what, I think he’s a slightly different version. Certainly from the creators of the current version of the story, he’s a very different character,” Simmons said. “To me, he’s a bit of a different character. He’s the same braggart; the same guy with less hair. Honestly, I wish he had the same hair.”

Speaking about his approach to Jameson in the MCU, Simmons shed some light on how James will be used in No Way Home. “As is appropriate for that character, it’s a little comic relief that is lightly sprinkled on the film.”

It seems that Spider-Man: No Way Home is really shaping up to be a celebration of all things Spider-Man, as it will bring back a host of iconic characters, including Green Goblin and Doc Ock. And what celebration of Spidey is complete without Jameson chewing on a cigar and ranting about Spider-Man as Public Enemy No. 1?

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released on December 17. Go here to see our full breakdown of the latest trailer.
