The five-week-old daughter of country singer Jimmie Allen was rushed to a Tennessee hospital Tuesday night after she “stopped breathing,” the singer said.
“Attention, doctors, if the father of your one-month-old patient tells you that the child has difficulty breathing and the only thing his lazy self wants to do is control the heart and temperature, look for another career. Your job is to save lives like this. do it, “tweeted Allen, who won the New Artist of the Year award at the ACM Awards this month.
“Now, thanks to the lazy doctors at a hospital in TN who just sent our daughter home, our daughter Zara lost her color, stopped breathing and was rushed to another hospital,” the tweet continued. “Thanks to the amazing EMT team that brought back Zara’s color, she can breathe again. It’s going to be a difficult night.”
A day earlier, Allen’s wife Alexis Allen posted on social media, writing: “They left the hospital yesterday at 2am. Ambulance at 2am. Basically if your son doesn’t have blue lips , he won’t have answers for you. That’s it. It’s been my last 24 hours. “
Allen and his wife were married in May and announced the arrival of their daughter Zara in mid-October.
Allen’s wife had previously posted about Zara and the couple’s other daughter, Naomi, 20 months old, battling undisclosed illnesses.
“Two sick babies,” the girls’ mother wrote on her Instagram story, which featured Zara on her chest. “An exhausted mom.”
Earlier this month, Allen became the second black artist to win the coveted New Artist of the Year trophy.
During this month’s Country Music Association awards, Allen and his band performed their latest single, “Freedom Was A Highway.”
