Key Glock has returned to Instagram with a message. After previously deleting his social media accounts, following the death of his mentor Young Dolph, Key Glock turned to his IG Stories on Sunday (November 21) to address those who contacted him. “STOP asking me if I’m okay. Key Glock, born Markeyvius LaShun Cathey, is Dolph’s cousin by marriage. Dolph signed his protégé to his Paper Route Empire label in 2017 and released the collaborative album. Dum and Dummer with him in 2019 and follow-up Dum and Dummer 2 this year. Local Memphis television station WREG reported that Key Glock helped Dolph deliver 200 Thanksgiving turkeys on Monday (November 15) at the West Cancer Center & Research Institute in Germantown, Tennessee.
Glock has been silent about Dolph’s death until now. While it’s unclear who the 24-year-old rapper was addressing with his IG Stories post, it appears he is deeply saddened by the tragedy. Earlier this month, Key Glock’s Yellow ribbon 2 it debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It earned 36,000 album equivalent units, consisting of 35.8 million on-demand streams, in its first week according to MRC Data. Just days before his passing, Dolph shared several Instagram posts promoting Glizock’s new project. “New Key Glock project Yellow ribbon 2 now on all platforms … shit haaaaaaard, ”he captioned a post.
As Revolt reported, Dolph was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon outside Makeda’s Butter Cookies in Memphis. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Memphis Police Department is still searching for the assailants who were caught on camera driving to the storefront and shooting the 36-year-old father of two.
