Lacey, 39, shared the tragic news in a heartbreaking Instagram post, in which she spoke about her grief over the ‘shocking loss’ of her older brother, while paying tribute to the two children she left behind.

Sharing an old photo of her late sister, the actress, who grew up in Mississippi before moving to California, wrote that she is “so broken” by his death, adding that her heart “is shattered into a million pieces.”

She had two children with a man named Shane Riggio, 45, however it is not known if they were still married at the time of her death. She worked as a baker at the Market Street supermarket chain.

Even though she and her siblings now live in different areas, Lacey previously revealed how they stay so close. She explained that they always make sure to always be together during the holidays, no matter how busy they are.

‘I started to realize how much I love our traditions now that I am a mother. While I am passing those traditions on to [my daughter], it’s almost like we can relive our childhood, ” she told Southern Living.

‘My sisters, my brother and all my nephews, I have seven nephews, they try to be at my parents’ house on Christmas Eve.

‘We have a white elephant-style party and we all end up fighting over a particular gift that is so silly.

“We eat and cook the same thing every year. There are recipes that my grandmother, my great-grandmother and my mother have passed on to me.

‘These are things I grew up eating as a kid on vacation. I love the tradition of doing the same thing year after year.

“On Christmas morning, we open the presents and everyone stays in their pajamas all day, eats a big dinner and we watch our favorite movies.”
