By Eiichiro Oda legendarily long pirate manga One piece It’s been around forever, just a little more than a good number of his fans have likely been aliveAnd the same with its anime adaptation. Last night, the anime reached episode 1000., And to celebrate the occasion, the episode brought back the first OP of all time in 1999 during the “East Blue” arc.

Either you see the opening as is or you compare it to the original, two things are clear: Luffy and the Straw Hats have grown a lot and have gone through so much shit since they started their journey to reach the Grand Line, and “We Are!” by Hiroshi Kitadani still fucking riiiiiiiiips. It is quite impressive that One piece managed to reach this milestone and has endured for so long. Even with the 2004 Adaptation of FoxBox (and its yet awesome rap) is a fascinating mess and the jury is out on the upcoming Netflix adaptation, it seems like the fanbase is generally relaxed with the entire franchise and just happy that there is point, so kudos to you all. I hope you were able to see this episode in theaters, if you felt safe.

Funimation and Toei Animation did more than redo its original opening to celebrate One pieceIt’s the big day, they also announced a new movie. Directed by Code Geass’ Goro Taniguchi with an original story by Oda himself, One Piece Film: Red will lead the Straw Hats on a collision course with new antagonist Patrick Redfield, also known as Red the Aloof. And it looks like the movie will heavily involve Luffy’s pirate mentor Shanks. The movies are said to be pretty good overall, and it should be exciting to see what wild berries, swords, and foot-based action the movie features. It is It is expected to launch on August 6, 2022.
