Let me paint your nails too, Keanu.

The internet is dark and full of billionaires tweeting stupid things.
So come and rest your weary soul here in an excerpt from a recent interview with Keanu Reeves. Today, Don posted an interview with the actor before the next Matrix continuation, The Matrix Revolutions. Reeves, as usual, exudes a quiet charm throughout the interaction. You scroll on your phone too long – identifiable! – looking for a text message exchange with Matrix his co-star Carrie-Anne Moss. He’s nice to people who try to stop him to take a selfie. (Can’t relate, but he’s still charming!) Yet it’s this little anecdote, shared by Sandra Bullock, Reeves’ co-star in Speed and The lake House – That takes the cake.
Please if you like, enjoy this story of Keanu Reeves doing the best Keanu Reeves could do:
A year or so later Speed It came out, Bullock and Keanu were hanging out, talking about whatever it was, and somehow the champagne and truffle topic came up, which isn’t really a topic at all, but Bullock said, on the spur of the moment, that he had never tried champagne and truffles. A comment of nothing. “Actually?” Keanu said. “No, I never had them,” said Bullock. The conversation turned to other topics.
Sorry to interrupt, but I just want to make sure you’re seated for the next part. You are sitting? Excellent. Continue.
A few days later, Bullock was sitting in the living room of the little house he had bought, his first home, with a girlfriend. They were painting their nails. He heard an engine outside, which turned out to be Keanu’s motorcycle. He rang the bell and Bullock opened the door to find him there with flowers, champagne, and truffles. He said, “I thought you might want to try the champagne and truffles to see what it is like.” She sat on the sofa. Bullock poured some champagne and they opened the truffles. Keanu spread his hands, without saying a word, and Bullock painted his fingernails black, just like hers.
I don’t want to be dramatic, but I would see a feature film recreating this moment between Keanu and Sandra. Stand on a motorcycle with flowers, alcohol and chocolate? Unreal. Aspirational. To the limit of pornography.
Also, I would like to mention that I have never enjoyed champagne and truffles either. Also, almost every night I am free and I have a variety of nail polishes. Something to think about, Keanu!
