Will Smith managed the heartache not by listening to sad tunes, but by having too much sex and, as a result, vomiting.
The “King Richard” star revealed in his new memoir, “Will,” that he became sexually a gag-prone “ghetto hyena” after his then-girlfriend Melanie cheated on him.
“I desperately need relief, but since there is no heartbreak pill, I turned to homeopathic remedies for shopping and wanton sex,” Will writes (via BuzzFeed News).
“Up to this point in my life, I had only had sex with one woman who was not Melanie, but over the next few months, I became a ghetto hyena.”
Apparently, this was not in accordance with his inner self, so Smith developed a “psychosomatic reaction” to ejaculation.
“I had sex with so many women, and it was so constitutionally unpleasant to the core of me, that I developed a psychosomatic reaction to having an orgasm,” he writes.
“I would literally gag and sometimes even throw up.”
Despite the adverse reaction to sex, Smith continued to sleep with women in the hope that they would cure his distress.
“In all cases, however, I waited for God that this beautiful stranger was ‘the only one’ who would love me, who would make this pain disappear,” he explains. “But invariably there I was, gagging and miserable. And the look in the women’s eyes deepened my agony even more. “
Smith married Sheree Zampino in 1992, but the couple divorced in 1995. He later married his now-wife Jada Pinkett Smith, with whom he has an open relationship.
“We drank every day, we had sex several times a day for four months in a row,” he writes of his courtship. “I started to wonder if this was a competition. Either way, as far as I’m concerned, there were only two possibilities: I was going to sexually satisfy this woman or I would die trying. “
Smith has three children: his son Trey, 29, with Zampino and his son Jaden, 23, and his daughter Willow, 21, with Pinkett Smith.
